With the new features rolled out by Google AdWords, we look at the 3 most interesting ones that you must definitely use.
If you are a paid advertiser, you must definitely look at the new features rolled out by Google AdWords and use them to your advantage. Most of these features will boost your ad campaigns, but today we bring to you the three important features that you must implement immediately if you haven’t done so already.
- Demographic targeting
One of the most useful features offered by Google AdWords is Demographic targeting. Allowing advertisers to slice their target audience by age and gender, the Demographics for search ads feature is slightly similar to location targeting.
This feature is exceptionally important to all online marketers and web stores. You can create your ad campaigns and reach different sets of potential customers depending upon their age, gender, income, and parental status. For instance, if you run an online jewelry store for women, you can avoid displaying your ads on the Instagram pages of men.
Google makes this segmentation by the account details provided by its users. For those users who haven’t signed into their Google accounts, Google infers their demographic information based on their browser activity. Either way, once you know who exactly your audience is based on their demography, you will be able to make more conversions by spending less amount.
- Price extensions
This feature, although not new, now allows prices to be displayed on all devices. This is great news for those businesses are tiered and have various service offerings. With each service, Google AdWords allows you to add the service description, the price, and a link directly to the service’s landing page.
The best part about adopting this feature is that it requires minimal extra work. You can use your old ads and just add the price and the landing page link. One thing to keep in mind is that because this feature works well with computers and mobile phones, ensure that all your pages have been optimized.
Price extensions can not only be easily updated but are also flexible and customizable. You can specify dates, the number of days, and the time you want these extensions to be displayed.
- Expanded text ads
The Expanded text ad format has overridden all old standard ad formats, starting January 2017. Expanded text ads are mobile optimized, which means that you don’t have to alter the device setting each time that you create an ad.
Also, instead of using the two 35 character description limit, you can have one 80 character description which gives you a better control over your ad design.
