Access to Your Google Ads Account and Ownership – New Updates
For more versatility, Google Ads has introduced new access levels and features to what you will see and control in your Google Ads account. Google has introduced a specific billing-only role to the account ownership role and modified it.
Billing Role
You can now issue billing permits to some persons, such as people in your finance department, with the billing-only feature. These billing-only positions may include the opportunity to monitor and control the bill, but the campaigns will not be updated or edited.
Account Ownership Change
Account ownership, formerly known as administrative ownership, expands the usual authorization of account managers. An account was able to have several owners in the past. Now, the ownership position would permit the ownership of a Google Ads account by only one manager account.
Method to give and remove access to a Google Ads Account
In order to give access to a specific e-mail address you need to follow the certain steps:
- Firstly, Sign in to your Google Ads account.
- Press the Tools button present in the top right corner.
- From the Setup menu bar, choose Account access.
- Now click on the plus (+) Icon.
- Choose your desired access level, then enter the e-mail address of that user whom you want to give access to.
- In the end, click send an invitation.
You will get a message or notification once the invitation has been received.
If you want to remove the pending invitation, go to the Actions column, click REMOVE ACCESS.
Method to accept the request to a Google Ads Account
If you want to give access to the agency, the most efficient way is to send the ID of your account to the agency, and then the agency can send a request for access. In order to accept it, you need to:
- Click on Tools option.
- From the Setup menu choose Account access.
- Go to Managers Tab.
- Press the Accept button.
Not having an access to Google Ads Account
If you do not have any access to your account, it is important first reaching out to the person who was most notably responsible for your Google Ads campaigns and has administrative access. It can quickly be recovered even if he or she doesn’t recall the password. However, if for whatever reason it is impossible (e.g. the previous agency refuses to allow access to either the consumer or the new agency), there is no issue establishing a new Google Ads account, but it may result in a loss of data and the history of the previous account.
